Defective e-cigarette batteries can cause explosions and fires resulting in injuries. Nicotine exposure is addictive and toxic. Nicotine exposure can harm the developing fetus during pregnancy. Nicotine is highly addictive and harmful to the developing brain. E-cigarette or vape use among youth is a major public health concern. Steps must be taken to prevent e-cigarette/vape use in youth. Vapes are commonly used among youth. Marketing for e-cigarettes if often targeted towards youth with bright colors and appealing flavors. E-cigarettes can cause irreversible lung damage, asthma, and lung cancer. There are a lot of great resources for individuals who want to quit using e-cigarettes.
